Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that hubby and I got to visit Columbia River Yacht Club. This club was beautiful with an exceptional view. We also got to take a boat ride on the Columbia River. It was most enjoyable.

Our tour captain has a boathouse, and inside the boathouse is his 61' Navigator Yacht, named New Shoes. It was beautiful. To have a boathouse here you must be a member of Columbia River Yacht Club. He has all the whistles and bells in this boathouse. There is an apartment upstairs and many other niceties downstairs.

This is us vacating the boathouse. Most impressive. He sterned this huge boat right back into his slip with ease. A great skipper.

This is a shot from the stern of his yacht. It did rain a couple of times, but we were inside and dry.

This is one of many beautiful homes we passed as we made our way around the island.

Their clubhouse is huge and well taken care of. They can throw a party here for many to enjoy and they do. What a great group of folks.

I'm thankful that we had a lovely two hour ride on a beautiful yacht and had a delicious dinner at their yacht club. If you're going to a boating conference there should be at least some yacht clubs and some boat rides to enjoy. Hubby and I can now say we've cruised on the Columbia River in a fabulous yacht.
